[Grant Application] STIN - Combine NFC and the ICON Blockchain

Project Title:
Combine NFC-technology and the ICON blockchain for ensuring a true limited edition of gin bottles

Project Category:
Development
Development of mobile apps for iOS and android and a website which interact with the ICON blockchain

Project Description:
Together with “STIN” (https://www.stin.at/) a local distiller of premium gin and a NFC hardware supplier, we want to establish an application combining the capabilities of NFC-technology with blockchain technology. We are going to equip 1000 bottles of a limited edition gin with special crypto enabled NFC chips (“Security Controller”), which provide the highest available security for blockchain systems. The limited amount of bottles is written into the blockchain and each customer should be easily able to check the integrity of the bottle and the total amount of available bottles by interacting with the NFC chip on the bottle.

Review Comments

We are excited about this use case for public blockchain technology. This project directly impacts our KPIs of transaction volume. We hope you find success with this project and grow it to scale which will add more transactions on the ICON blockchain. We saw a brief mention of a business model for merchants, but please also consider a business model for your project to make it more sustainable. We would be interested to hear more about this as you think about it. Thanks!

Next Procedure
