Project description

On November 2019, Stakin began working on the ICON Daily project (Twitter: @Daily_ICX), through which we publish daily updates about what is happening in the ICON ecosystem. A few months ago, we decided to make this project global and started animating a community of translators located all around the world, helping spread the word about ICON in their local community.

In order to increase the audience and make it fun for the community, we also organized multiple giveaways. These giveaways attracted 2,660 participants, completing 45,000 social media actions.

Not only is ICON Daily interesting, global, and fun, but it’s also consistently ranking among the first accounts in ICON social media activity.

It’s not simple to curate content and be consistent in publishing daily news without interruption. Animating a community and organizing giveaways also add up to cost. This support from the Foundation will enable us to remain consistent in publishing daily news, improve this media, and further incentivize the community of readers and translators.

Thank you for submitting your grant application. We love and appreciate community-driven initiatives such as ICON Daily. We definitely agree your contribution brings a lot of faith and positivity to the ICON project. However, at this current time, we believe ICON overall has a heavy presence on Twitter vs. other channels. In addition, we’re currently looking for more creative, unique, and diverse content.
This does not mean that we don’t value ICON Daily work as we know many community members are appreciative. We unfortunately made the decision due to the reasons stated above.

Thanks for your feedback @minhx.

We understand your decision and we will keep pushing this great initiative with or without grant.
