VELIC would like to officially announce the initiation of its grant campaign to support various ICON projects. VELIC’s objective in this campaign is to promote the development of useful D-Apps & services which aim to benefit the ICON ecosystem as a whole. As such, VELIC will be accepting submissions for various ICON projects and provide support to further their cause.
- What projects are eligible for the campaign?
All projects & services related to the ICON ecosystem (whether on or off-chain) are eligible for this grant opportunity. Given that VELIC strives to be the financial backbone in the ICON ecosystem, services related to financial services will be given additional consideration.
- Who should apply?
All individuals or teams (including P-rep candidates) are invited to participate. Participants must adhere to the applicable deadline timetable. Multiple projects can be submitted by the same participant, but each submission will be considered on a stand-alone basis.
- How to apply?
VELIC will announce when the campaign website and the application form is ready for access. Stay tuned with VELIC’s official twitter (@VelicFinancial) and join our telegram group (Telegram: Contact @velicfinancial) for forthcoming details.
- What will be the awards for the winners?
The winning applicants will be receiving the following vote delegations for a period of 3 months. This delegation is intended to boost the applicants’ presence in the ICON ecosystem and to provide them with ICX network rewards which can be used to finance the development costs of their project.
- 1st Prize winner : 2,000,000 ICX vote delegations
- 2nd Prize winner: 1,000,000 ICX vote delegations
If the winner is not a P-rep candidate, then VELIC may, in its sole discretion, provide alternative means of support.
At the end of the 3 month period, VELIC intends to initiate phase 2 of the grant campaign. Existing winners will also be eligible to enter the subsequent phase of the grant campaign, either for existing or new project submissions.
- Evaluation Factors
VELIC will consider each service submission on a holistic basis, taking into account various factors including but limited to:

Usefulness of the service;

Number of potential users;
-
Impact on other projects and participants in the ICON ecosystem;

UI/UX, including the design of the user interface, ease of use, efficiency, functionality, logical structure, etc.;

Popularity; and
-
Innovation and Uniqueness.

The initial phase of the campaign is expected to run from December 2019 to February 2020.
Registration + Submission Period : December 2019 - January 31, 2020
Evaluation Period: February 2020
Announcement: February 2020
-Time schedule may be adjusted and/or extended as necessary to ensure an appropriate level of participation.
